Outlook Spaces now available. It s a convenient board that will allow you to easily grasp every topic
The Outlook Spaces application is now available for testing. It can collect all information on a given topic from our Microsoft services and allows us to arrange them in one convenient space.
Outlook Spaces - previously known under the temporary name Project Mocca - is Microsoft's new application to organize tasks and information. For now, it is available only in the form of a beta version (i.e. still not ready version for testing), only in the form of a web application. Fortunately, this means that it will work in any modern web browser, regardless of the operating system. The application is available at this address .
What is Outlook Spaces?
Space in English means space. Outlook Spaces allows us to create such spaces - in which algorithms and ourselves will place next, somehow related elements. The process of creating a new area begins with giving it a name, choosing a template and entering keywords to define it. Contrary to appearances, the latter are quite important, although they can be changed later.
Providing keywords will allow the application to extract all information from our Microsoft Account that may be related to the topic. These can be emails and calendar entries from Outlook, To-Do task lists or files from OneDrive. These data sets will always be at hand in the interface - although of course nothing prevents you using a built-in search engine to find and add another element to the area.
Elements in this area are represented as specific blocks that can be dragged freely on the screen - and also grouped into compartments. We can add for now (possible elements to arrive):
- Calendar entries
- Task lists
- Notes
- files
- links
- Weather forecast for the indicated place
- compartments
The areas created in this way can be shared with others (only for preview or with editing rights) and are available in the main view of the Outook Spaces application:
When will Outlook Spaces be ready?
Hard to say. The application is still in a relatively early stage of development. However, although it is marked as beta (that is, it can cause unforeseen problems), during my tests nothing bad happened. So, although there is still some time left before the release of the production version, you can use Outlook Spaces with caution today.
