Microsoft has not yet shown games for the Xbox X Series, but has already won one battle with PlayStation 5
I really liked the presentation of the PlayStation 5 games. I already know why I need new equipment. Some of these productions look phenomenal. The problem is that it is mainly visually.
As an enthusiast and fan of the Xbox platform, I watched the presentation of games on PlayStation 5 with a slight anxiety. Only light - after all, I'm not a Microsoft shareholder, and if Xbox does not meet my expectations I will go to the Blue camp - with regret, but without exaggeration. A better product must always win. For me it has always been an Xbox, but never say never : it's possible that PlayStation 5 will be more attractive.
I know one thing for sure: a very difficult task before Xbox. PlayStation showed a lot of games in just over an hour. Almost all, with a few exceptions, presented a beautiful visual setting, unattainable for PlayStation 4 Pro consoles. Several of them - with the new Rachet & Clank installment at the forefront - due to the mechanics that require super-fast memory, would not be conceptually feasible on older consoles. It was interesting and various. As for the starting line-up of games, PlayStation 5 has a phenomenal offer.
I don't know if it will be possible to talk about the Xbox Series X in a similar way . But for me Microsoft has already won another battle today. And before you even show your games.
Games from Xbox Game Studios created for the Xbox Series X are to be seen next month. In theory, the offer should be equally rich: in recent years, Microsoft has been running after development studies with suitcases filled with dollars. He is currently the owner of one of the leading game development teams. However, we will see how it comes out in practice and whether the offer of Xbox Game Studios will match that of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
The presentation of games on PS5, however, irritated me for another reason. Most of these promising productions - of course not all - could easily be released on PlayStation 4. Not so rich in graphics, it's obvious, but I see no reason not to release them in a simplified version for older consoles. Similarly to the games on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.
Sony will no longer release games on PlayStation 4 . Microsoft will not abandon the owners of Xbox One.
Ghosts of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II will be the last Sony games released on the PlayStation 4 consoles. From now on, all the studios created by PlayStation will appear exclusively on PlayStation 5. PS4 will continue to receive new games, but only multiplatforms, from external publications. Sony, he explains, does not want new games to be castrated in order to run on older hardware.
Xbox decided the opposite. For two years after the launch of the Xbox Series X, all Xbox Game Studios will also be released on Xbox One. So Sony abandons 110 million players so that the first buyers of PS5 have the best offer of games. Microsoft, however, risks not using the full potential of the Xbox Series X console to care for the interests of 50 million Xbox One owners.
After the Sony games show, I feel that Microsoft has made the best decision. It is possible that I will bark back - we saw short snippets of games on PS5, not full gameplay, so it is possible that in these games there are elements impossible to implement on PS4. For now, however, it looks like most PS5 games are PS4 games with fast loading times and graphics turned up to the maximum. In my opinion, this is reason enough to replace old equipment with new one. On the spot, the less affluent PlayStation 4 owner who cannot afford to buy new equipment quickly, I would, however, feel quite disappointed.
