Again there is new information about the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 series. The camera of the new flagship is said to put everything else in the shade.
If the latest information is correct, then the new flagships should appear with a 9P free-form camera module and a 108 MP camera . The former has been suspected for some time , but the 108 MP camera is new.
Lin En-Ping, CEO of Largan Precision, said his company has finished developing free-form and 9P lens modules (nine plastic lens parts), with deliveries for the former expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Huawei Mate 40 camera development completed
Largan Precision is a Taiwan-based main supplier of camera lens modules for smartphones, tablet computers and digital cameras. Huawei is a long-time and one of Largan's largest customers, which is why the company is the first to use this lens in the Huawei Mate 40 series.
A new 108 MP sensor is also said to be installed in the Huawei Mate 40 series. It is said to be a new sensor with better performance than the current ones.
In cooperation with the 9P free-form camera module, the sensor should deliver significantly better images than anything that has ever been seen on smartphones. Huawei's camera specifications have not yet been confirmed. But the Huawei Mate 40 series already seems to cast great shadows ahead.
