It is going on! Smartphones with under-display cameras should appear in 2021 at the latest. And Huawei seems to be at the forefront. The first models are currently under development.
Huawei plans to build the first smartphones with under-display cameras. The new technology should then be used in the Chinese flagships of the Mate and P series.

LetsGoDigital did some research again and dug out a few details. This refers to a patent from October 2019. What is striking is that the display frame should shrink even further, and then practically no longer exists.
Furthermore, according to the patent, one also wants to completely do without physical keys. Other manufacturers have already dared to do this "experiment", but it was not so well received by users.

The important thing is that it is a patent; no one knows exactly how far Huawei is with the implementation. The technology is very difficult because you need displays that then let enough light through so that the pictures are of decent quality.
Of course, one hopes to be ready for the market by the end of the year. In addition to Huawei, other manufacturers are of course busy implementing this technology. Oppo and Xiaomi are also right at the forefront.
