The CES 2021 takes place! This is how we can summarize today's message from the Consumer Technology Association. But it will not go without any restrictions in January 2021 either.
Software, hardware, automobiles and everything else related to technology can be seen in Las Vegas every year at the beginning of the year. More than 100,000 participants come to the desert every year. And so also next year.
The CES was the only major event that took place this year. And is likely to kick off many other trade fairs next year.
However, the CTA also says it will follow the plans and recommendations of the public health experts and those of the federal, state, and local governments.
The CTA plans to increase the amount of digitally available content while adopting a number of guidelines to ensure the safety of participants:
- Regular cleaning and disinfection of the rooms at the exhibition locations and provision of disinfection stations everywhere;
- Better enabling social distance, including widening aisles in many exhibition areas and providing more space between seats in conference programs and other areas where participants gather;
- Issuing best practices for attendees such as wearing masks and avoiding handshakes, as well as exhibitors at product demonstrations;
- Limitation of points of contact in all facilities, including through cashless systems for purchases and transactions;
- Evaluation of solutions for contactless thermal scans at important entry points of the event location;
- Improve access to health services and medical help on site.
