Huawei gives up running a dedicated Honor brand of a separate company in our country. The products will still be sold - by Huawei Polska - but this may be a harbinger of major changes.
For those who do not yet know - Honor is not an independent brand. It is a brand introduced by Huaweia to distinguish devices with a particularly favorable price-performance ratio. Something like Xiaomi's Redmi, though with a slightly more emphasis on distinguishing two brands.
This unfortunately means that Honor, like Huawei, is facing a huge challenge posed by the United States government . The company cannot do business with any US company, so it cannot transfer new phones to Google for certification for Play Services. Therefore, Huawei and Honor focus on their own services, which are developing dynamically, but invariably hinders the sale of phones to end customers.
Honor Poland ceases to exist.
We were able to confirm directly at the source that Honor Polska is being liquidated. Her duties, i.e. service, sales and marketing, will be taken over by Huawei Polska. Honor itself as a brand does not cease to exist, both in Poland and in the world.
At the same time, we were able to confirm that Honor brand accessories will almost certainly remain on the Polish market. Our interlocutor was not sure if the same applies to mobile phones, but for now we would not attach particular importance to this uncertainty.
Remaining Honor devices in Polish distribution is undoubtedly good news. It is not difficult, however, to worry anxiously: after all Honor Poland is not liquidated for a reason. It is quite possible that due to the challenges associated with the lack of support for Play Services from Google, the owner of the Honor brand will not be able to keep selling devices at a satisfactory level - as a result, completely withdrawing from our market.
