A mobile router supporting 5G has appeared in Netgear's offer. Nighthawk M5 (MR5200) is ready for the future and will handle transfers of 4 Gb / s.

5G has already fallen under our roofs, and Plus as the first Polish mobile operator has launched communication using new data transmission technology in 7 cities. These include Warsaw, Łódź, Gdańsk, Poznań, Szczecin, Wrocław and Katowice. Even a range map has already appeared.

It is worth noting, however, that for now we are dealing with 5G in the 2600 MHz band, which was previously used by LTE, which translates into transfers of 600 Mb / s. The frequency auction will be back soon. As soon as it ends, telecoms will get access to the 3.4-3.8 GHz band, and the 5th generation network will accelerate.

The device will now prove itself as a fast LTE modem and will allow to use the full potential of 5G in the future, as soon as Polish operators start to offer in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band commercially a network with a much higher bandwidth of several hundred Mb / s. In addition, the router provides LTE Cat 22 and LTE Advanced connectivity with band aggregation (4 × 4 MIMO with 256QAM modulation). Of course, the Netgear Nighthawk M5 also has IPv6 support.

Thanks to USB and Ethernet ports, the device will provide super-fast internet to your computer, which will please especially those who do not have access to a DSL, fiber optic or cable network. Wi-Fi 6 will provide convenient internet access for smartphones, tablets, laptops, game consoles, etc. - at home and outside.

It should not be forgotten that the Netgear Nighthawk M5 is a mobile router.

Nothing stands in the way of the device being permanently plugged into the socket, but the built-in battery allows you to take Nighthawka M5 with you on a journey - the link is enough for the whole day of work. The device is not much bigger than a smartphone and measures only 105 × 105 × 21.5 mm with a weight of 240 grams.
