Sony gives free games Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. You don t even need PS Plus

Sony counts a big (ps) plus for pro-consumer behavior in these unusual times. As part of the Play At Home initiative, the company will distribute good games for free. The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey are up for grabs.

Sony is taking another action to slightly enhance social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the thought of spending more time in four walls, the Play At Home initiative was created. Through it, SIE plans to give away digital copies of games on PlayStation 4, completely free, without having to have a PS Plus subscription.

Free games on PlayStation 4 are Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey.

The Nathan Drake collection is a collection of three remastered action games from the Uncharted series. A solid dose of content that will last for tens of hours. I'll just add from myself that it's worth starting the adventure from the second installment. It is true that in this way we disturb the chronology of events, but you must know that the first Uncharted stands far from the second, third and fourth views. The first part has its fans, but offers more archaic gameplay, worse fire exchange and frustrating flooding the player with waves of opponents.

Journey, in turn, is a very personal adventure, which is best to go through in one sitting in front of the console. The unique, artistic production combines the fate of two players who must cooperate, help each other and look after each other. A unique experience that is worth experiencing on your own skin. Especially if Sony offers them for free.

Both Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey will be available for free download from the PS Store on PlayStation 4 from April 16, 2020. To participate in this unique promotion, you do not need a PS Plus subscription. All you need is a SIE account which you log in to PS4 and of course Internet access.

I wonder if in the future the Play At Home initiative will return with other games.

This is the fourth week of social isolation. For many of us, this period can be very psychologically demanding. Here, video games can be helpful, constituting one of the nice springboards in these unusual times. However, the question arises: how much longer? How long can we stand it? When can we go to the store without fear for our own health and the health of others?

When you don't see a clear light in the tunnel, when you don't see a clear finish, initiatives like Play At Home are very nice, positive surprises. That's why I would not be offended if Sony expanded this action with more titles in the future. They don't have to be the latest AAA exclusive PS4 productions. Initiative counts. The mere fact that the company is taking real action to improve - even a bit - the situation of its clients.

We will download Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey on PS4 from April 16, 2020.
