The new Royole Flexpai 2 is installed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with 5G modem. The new foldable display has a diagonal of 7.8 ″ in the aspect ratio of 4: 3 when it is open. The Flexpai 2 will also have LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 memory, but the manufacturer has not yet revealed the size.
According to the manufacturer, the foldable display of the 3rd generation is said to have survived more than 200,000 bends without being damaged. It is equipped with almost 100 micro-nano-materials to improve the stretch recovery and the "layer peeling", ie the bubbles and folds that you feel when unfolding displays.
According to Royole, the new Cicada Wing will have a 1.3x better color space and 500x better contrast than a high-end LCD. It also comes with a custom built-in display driver processor. The panel can be folded in several directions and even rolled.
Royole CEO Bill Liu confirmed that his company has signed a partnership agreement with ZTE. This will likely result in ZTE launching a foldable smartphone based on the Royole Flexpai 2.
The Royole Flexpai 2 is scheduled for release in the 2nd quarter of 2020.
