The broadcast of the European premiere of Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro and the unexpected Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G has just ended. There are still 4 days to the Polish premiere, but we already know what prices can be expected.

Xiaomi Mi 10 will debut in Poland on March 31 and then we will know the official price in PLN. Today we learned the prices of new smartphones in euros and if they find a translation into the Polish currency, we can confidently talk about the end of the era of "cheap Xiaomi flagships". It's expensive. Damn expensive.

Xiaomi Mi 10 - the price in Europe knocks.

After the presentation in China, we calculated that Xiaomi Mi 10 can cost around 2700 PLN, and the more expensive Mi 10 Pro around 4100 PLN. Unfortunately, these calculations were incorrect.

Xiaomi Mi 10 prices

In Europe, Xiaomi Mi 10 is expected to cost 799 euros, or over 3600 PLN at today's exchange rate.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro starts from the ceiling of 999 euros, i.e. over 4500 PLN. Yes, it's still much less than the top Galaxy S20 Ultra costs, but for Xiaomi, the price is simply prohibitive.

The situation is saved slightly by Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G , which will cost 349 euros, which is less than 1600 PLN. This smartphone promises to be very interesting, even more interesting than the more expensive Xiaomi Mi Note 10, so although the Chinese have not exaggerated with the price.

But when it comes to the main variants ... well. This is certainly not what fans of the brand expected.

Xiaomi is already number 3 on the global smartphone market. And it starts to be reflected in the prices.

As long as Xiaomi was the "black horse" of the smartphone race, the relatively low price of top models allowed the Chinese to overtake much more expensive rivals. Now, however, when Xiaomi - both in Poland and in the world - climbs to the fourth and even third place in the sales ranking, the price idyll had to come to an end.

Xiaomi is no longer a choice for "sensible consumers who know the market." Familiarity with the brand's smartphones is no longer reserved for regular internet forums and Spider's Web readers. Today, everyone knows the Xiaomi brand. No wonder that the way of communication and pricing of new products has changed.

The only question that remains is whether this is the right strategy. Does Xiaomi Mi 10 have so much to offer to price it on one level with top Samsung Galaxy or iPhones?

I don't know that yet, but I will find out soon. Xiaomi Mi 10 is on its way to testing and soon we will be able to clearly determine if it is worth the money that will have to be paid for it.
