Gmail introduces a new feature. From now on you will be able to choose many different email footers for one email address. It's amazing that Google is implementing this feature only now.
Something has always been wrong with Gmail signatures. When writing a new email, you could not choose the email footer so far, because Gmail automatically added the footer assigned to a given email address. I don't quite understand why the world's largest email service approached the subject of signatures with such carelessness. It will change now.
Gmail will allow you to choose different footers for the same email address.
We read on the Google blog that the process of updating Gmail is just starting for business customers using the G Suite package. The new email creation window will contain a new button responsible for selecting the email footer. You can select saved signatures, leave the e-mail without signature or create a new signature.
Only so much, but so much at the same time. The new function will be appreciated by people who use e-mail at work. I personally receive not even dozens a day, but sometimes even hundreds of emails. I answer a lot. I usually use one footer assigned to a given address, but there are situations when I would prefer to sign with a simplified footer in which there is no phone number.
This feature is available in every major mail management program. This is a basic function. Don't know why, Gmail has never had it before.
Implementation of the footer selection mechanism in the G Suite package makes sense, because it is an option typically focused on business and corporate clients. However, the novelty will also go to the free version of Gmail.
Now it's time for signatures in mobile applications.
Desktop work is still important, but in today's reality we are receiving more and more emails on smartphones. Unfortunately, Google still has a lot to do in the Gmail mobile application. Still such a basic thing is missing as signature synchronization with the desktop.
This is particularly bothersome in my work, when I often switch to test smartphones and each time I have to set my signature in Gmail. I don't even mention the inability to change the signature.
There is still a lot to do, but it's good that Google has noticed a shortage in its service. Better late than never.
New in Gmail. Finally, you'll be able to quickly change signatures in your emails
