Test version of the system application Your phone has two interesting functions. The first allows you to easily cut, copy and paste content between your phone and computer. The second one will make your smartphone use less energy.
The system application Your phone in Windows 10 is probably the most dynamically developed module by Microsoft from those visible to the user. No wonder: it is surprisingly functional and useful. Although for independent reasons, its advantages can only be appreciated by Android phone users, but there are many advantages.
Already today, the application allows you to pair your computer with our phone, thanks to which we can:
- Send and receive SMSs, MMSs
- Copy photos from your phone
- Receive and make voice calls
- Stream the image from the phone display to your computer
- Receive notifications from your phone and respond to them in the system Action Center
And soon your phone will allow you to synchronize the Clipboard and improve the performance of video streaming.
Microsoft on the occasion of the release of the new test version of Windows 10 in Windows Insider (changes in this compilation are minor, they relate to a better interface to the interface panel to control the system using eyeball movements and a few minor trifles) also announced the testing of the new version of your phone application, which it will go to ordinary users very soon.
The first novelty concerns the operation of the screen streaming function on our computer. Until now, it worked so that the computer fully replicated what was happening on the phone. In other words, if you launch an Android application from your computer, the phone will illuminate its display and turn it on. Continuous display operation shortens the battery life - thankfully, from the new version you will be able to work with the phone display off.
The second new feature is the shared storage for both devices. Until now, to be able to paste content from one device to another, we had to use the SwiftKey keyboard on the phone - and only content copied from its level could be pasted on another device. With the new version, such a broker becomes unnecessary, and Windows 10 gains access to the phone's clipboard. Unfortunately, for now this feature will only work with the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Z Flip phones. However, the list of models is to expand.
With the new version, your phone application also gains RCS format support. No operator in Poland yet offers it, but RCS will replace SMSs and MMSs in the future. It's good to know that the application is ready for it.
