The Messenger version of the Windows version will soon get an archive search engine. We will be able, as in the web version, to search for words and sentences in past conversations. The feature is already in beta testing.
I don't know how in your case, but for me, the archive function in an instant messenger can be very helpful. We often deal with important matters using messengers, which are then lost in the flow of everyday conversations. The search engine allows you to easily find them.
Messenger, of course, offers an indexed archive, as probably all users of the web application available on Messenger.com know. Unfortunately, the Windows application has not yet been seen for some reason. Fortunately, this is just changing.
The search engine is now available in the beta version of Facebook Messenger for Windows.
The version of Windows Messenger for public beta testing has received a search engine, which can be accessed by opening the conversation in which we want to find something and then clicking the new magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner.
In the form, enter the word or phrase that you want to find. Messenger will inform you how many times it has occurred or occurred in a given conversation, and of course it will allow you to go directly to the statement that interests you.
Beta-tests of new versions of Messenger for Windows usually take about two weeks. Therefore, at the same time we should expect an upgrade of the production version for the ordinary user. Let's hope that no major defects could be found during the tests that could cause delays.
