Brand24 returns to Facebook, Facebook returns to Brand24. This is the end of the ban

Great news for Brand24 users. Facebook has just withdrawn its ban, thanks to which reports from Facebook and Instagram will return to the reports.

In September last year, Michał Sadowski, the founder of Brand24, informed about a ban imposed by Facebook . It all began with a publication in the American Business Inside, in which the Polish website was presented in an unfavorable company. The article described abuses in obtaining data from Facebook and Instagram. Brand24 was mentioned as one of the companies that practices such practices.

Michał Sadowski proved that he was wrong. In his film, he argued that Facebook's response was unjustified. The door handle, however, went down, as a result of which Brand24 lost access to the API, and therefore could not monitor mentions on Facebook and Instagram. This was very bad news for customers who want to monitor opinions about their products, because Facebook and Instagram are the largest social media in which users willingly share opinions and comment on services.

Brand24's customers and investors relationship appeared immediately. Stock market valuation has fallen, and some customers have decided to leave the service. Financial reports, however, showed that Brand24 is doing surprisingly well without Facebook .

Facebook withdrew from the ban. Brand24 and Michał Sadowski's profiles have returned. Facebook and Instagram monitoring will also be back.

Michał Sadowski informed on Twitter and on a restored Facebook account that Brand24 has signed an agreement with Facebook, under which the company will again receive access to API, profiles and advertising accounts.

I asked Michał Sadowski a few questions about his return.

When can we expect a return to monitoring Facebook and Instagram? Monitoring will return, but not immediately. As Michał Sadowski writes:

We anticipate that the start of the new integration will last up to several weeks.

Will something change in the way of monitoring? It looks like not:

"Brand24 can use the Facebook and Instagram platforms on the same terms as other companies operating on these websites. We don't have any additional restrictions that we didn't have before the case. Data from these platforms will include, as before, only public mentions, "says Michał Sadowski.

I also asked Michał whether Facebook admitted that he had made a wrong decision and whether he justified the ban's photos in some way. Michał answered very matter-of-factly:

"Facebook takes privacy issues and access to data from the platform very seriously. One of the elements of this policy are audits of companies that present data from this platform. As you can see from the example of Brand24, audit procedures can be time consuming but fair. Of course, the blockade was painful for us. However, we understand that from Facebook's perspective this is an important safeguard. "

The Brand24 course has gone out.

The stock market immediately reacted to Facebook's return to Brand24. The company is listed on NewConnect, and from 9 o'clock the rate fired from PLN 17.8 to PLN 23.40. It is currently stabilizing at around PLN 21. Brand24 customers include Ikea, H&M, Uber or Vichy.
