MIUI will integrate new ways to share the contents of our smartphone on an external monitor or TV (Connection & Sharing)

Xiaomi continues to add new ways to facilitate the fact of how we use our smartphone. Not only with new features present in its famous personalization layer, but improving the current ones and incorporating new modes of operation as has been the case with the use of an external monitor or television.

Specifically we talk about the Miracast functionality, a technology certified by the WiFi Alliance that allows us to transmit the contents of our smartphone on a TV or monitor through the WiFi connection itself. In this way we do not need the use of cables so we can enjoy what we see on our smartphone on a much larger screen with just one click.

Now, we have learned that Xiaomi is already testing in its latest closed beta of MIUI 10 9.8.19 , new ways to share the content of our smartphone. And, not only are we going to be able to broadcast what is happening on our device, but we can also visualize content on our TV and at the same time run other applications on the smartphone. This new functionality called Connection & Sharing allows us up to 5 new ways to share content in MIUI . These new forms are:

  • Minimize window : It allows us to visualize a content on an external monitor or television while we can continue using our smartphone, either using other apps or even making a call.
  • Cast with screen off : This mode is the classic way of transmitting content on a TV or monitor, but in this way we can keep the screen of our smartphone turned off in order to avoid high battery consumption.
  • Documents : This interesting way allows us from the File Manager to share a specific document, always being able to use our smartphone to perform any other task.
  • Photos & Videos : Like the previous document mode, we can share from the Gallery any video or photo, being able to use the smartphone to perform another task.
  • Games : This interesting mode allows us to activate from the Game Turbo mode of Xiaomi the fact of visualizing our favorite game that we are using on our smartphone, on an external screen or monitor. In this way we can use our mobile device as if it were a remote control and meanwhile watch the video game on a larger television.

Undoubtedly, 5 new ways to share the content of our smartphone that no longer just rely on directly sharing what happens on our device, giving us the opportunity to use the smartphone for any other task. As is often the case with these changes, it is only available in the private beta of the Chinese ROM of MIUI , so its arrival at the Global ROM could be quite far or even released with the arrival of MIUI 11 .
