Dropbox Transfer will allow you to quickly transfer huge files. With your finger in the USB port, you send 100 GB

Dropbox is constantly striving to conquer the world of productivity with its products. A new product has just joined his portfolio, which can bring rivals in its category.

If we want to send a very large file to someone, over a few gigabytes, the options are basically two: uploading a file into a cloud, such as Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive and providing a download link, or using tools like WeTransfer or MyAirBridge, enabling file transfer without creating an account in new services. The latter option is usually faster and more convenient, especially when we try to share files with a person who does not use the same set of tools as us.

And this is the second option that can dominate Dropbox Transfer.

Dropbox Transfer brings out alternatives.

In a nutshell, Dropbox Transfer is simply a tool for quickly transferring large files. We add a file to the service, the service generates a link, we send a link to the person with whom we want to share the file. Simple, fast, effective.

In Dropbox Transfer, we can also get confirmation when the other party downloads files (something that many services lack very much), and the link can be personalized by adding a background for the menu to make the best impression on the recipient. The recipient will also immediately see how much time he has to download the data before the link expires. This is another element that is lacking in competition.

Dropbox Transfer will allow you to transfer files up to 100 GB. For comparison - if you want to send a similar file size in a competitive MyAirBridge, you need to buy an Enterprise subscription for 60 euros per month. Competitive WeTransfer does not offer file transfer of this size at all - there is a maximum of 20 GB in paid version and 2 GB in free.

We do not know yet whether Transfer will be a free or paid service. It is possible that you will be able to send files of limited size for free, and a full 100 GB will be available only to Dropbox Premium users.

We will find out when the service will be implemented. Until then, you can sign up for the Dropbox Transfer beta checklist .

It would seem that such a tool is not worth much publicity, but it is not true. In a modern work environment, especially remote or freelance, where files are sent to different people, not only within the organization, tools such as Dropbox Transfer are extremely useful.

Now that a simple file transfer tool is offered by such a large and respected player as Dropbox, I have the impression that other services of this type will have to either re-invent themselves or ... start to collapse.
