Condemned to Huela with water - I have been drinking powder for about a week to lose weight

Why did not I come up with this? Why have not I tried before? Does it really work? Is it tasty? Can you drink enough milk a day? These and other questions came up when Patryk Słowik launched his monthly Huel test - powdered food on Spider's Web . When Patryk finished the test, I carried out Huel's first order .

Patryk carried out the Huet test from Jetson on Spider's Web - he decided to eat / drink Huela and only Huel. Okay, the correction - Huela poured milk, and from time to time he cared his gut Coca cola zero. I do not drink Cola. And as it turned out quickly, I can not drink milk either. And certainly not in such quantities, to make a few meals a day in it. I also had no intention of repeating what Patryk had already done, and this was because I had put another task before Huel.

Why did I order Huela ?

Because I want to lose weight. Yes, I'm too much. And my job requires sitting in front of a computer. Recently, I also had a surgical procedure, which meant that I have not got on a bicycle this season. I could not be at the pool.

I could only walk. And I tried to do it as often as possible. I remember well that in winter the watch motivated me to move, saying that it would be good to do these 6,500 steps a day. Now, in the summer season, Garmin raised the bar to 13,000 steps a day. In good weeks (when it's not raining) I have an average daily of nearly 13,000. In worse weeks I have over 10,000 steps. So I move quite regularly. Of course, a courier, postman or even a worker in the large store area will do more kilometers per day. However, I earn money while sitting, so I am very proud of my several thousand steps a day.

More movement, however, did not help to lose weight. I weigh 92 kg with a height of 178 cm. So it would be good if I went below 80 kg with weight. In the past I weighed more. But that does not make the oscillation around 90 kg a sort of consolation. Hence the strong motivation to change something.

I found that since I am moving much more than in the winter season, I should descend with the weight down. However, this did not happen. Reason? Food.

I love eating. The best is often and often. However, I am a person who can set very strong limits. In the past, I left the meat completely for some time because I wanted to do it. However, I am not limited to delicate limiting something. I can not eat less meat. But I can not eat it at all.

That's why I thought about Huel. Since I could switch to food, whose calorie is easy to count, I could base my diet on it. I would not have to wonder how many calories have doves that are just disappearing from my plate. I would not have to weigh the pork chop, then the potatoes, and then wonder how to enter the calories counting salad I made.

Everything was supposed to be easy with Huel. One scoop of powder is 152 kcal. Two scoops are 304 kcal. Three are 456 kcal. By operating such numbers, we can very easily divide the daily energy requirement into several meals and stick to the plan.

Condemned to Huela with water

In one of his texts, Patryk wrote :

A lot of people in the comments to the first text wrote that I would put away the milk and mix the powder with water. It would be a healthier solution, but difficult for me to implement. Huel with water tastes hideous. For me, the choice is that it is either milk or not at all.

For me it was the opposite. I tried to drink Huel with milk, because this was recommended by Patryk and Piotr Barycki, who also jumped on the Huela diet. I do not drink too much milk every day. I do not drink it at all - my son does not tolerate lactose, so we do not even have milk at home. But we have some drinks that pretend milk: coconut, rice, soy, oatmeal and their mixes.

So I bought a pair of milk bottles and started to drink Huela. The reaction of my body was immediate. The intestines rebelled and I realized that if I want to drink Huela, it's only with water.

All pretend milk was at stake, but I found that since Huel has a very well balanced composition as a standard, maybe I should not disturb it drinking a liter or two pseudo milk daily.

An application in which I count calories. also sent me a similar signal - by flooding the powder with various beverages, it turned out that already in the middle of the day I achieve the suggested amounts of consumption of some elements of the diet. I did not want to do it because I wanted to trust Huel's band.

That's why I put Huel on the water. Is he hideous? No. Is it noticeably worse than with milk? Yes. So I decided to savor the fruit situation. I started adding fruit to Huel vanilla, because I drink it. A bit of raspberries or blueberries, or strawberries, or half a banana. The amounts of fruit are small, so they will not spoil my diet, and for example, such a half of a banana can be easily added to the calorie counting application.

I did not intend and I do not intend to play in Jetsons, so when we got from the mother-in-law, homemade cabbage in young cabbage, I ate it with all the household members. I did not know how to enter it into the application, because I did not weigh the meal or know its exact composition, so I just decided to eat much less that day. Not to lose it.

And from such life achievements, I drank Huela, when the girl was cutting delicious molluscs with focaccia:

The beginnings were difficult

After I had to put Huel away with milk and deliberately resigned from Huela with drinks, I was very disgusted. The vision of drinking the same powder constantly dissolved in water, even acted sparingly.

Fruit was the rescue. Just literally a few strawberries, a few cherries, half a handful of raspberries or blueberries, to change the taste of the drink. Thanks to this I do not have to drink a few times a day, literally the same.

For the first days (I've been drinking Huela for nearly a week) I also had a damned problem with discipline. Several times a day I went to the kitchen to look into the cupboards and the fridge. I saw the food, but left it alone. In a crisis situation, I ate a few nuts or rice wafer.

Even the day before yesterday I had such a problem that even though I ate so much Huel, as prompted by the MyFitnessPal application, I felt hunger. I have eaten many times a day, and so every time I count down the time until I can eat another portion.

It was easier yesterday. Today it is quite easy - I write these words at 20:00, and according to my application I can eat 930 kcal today. And I'm not hungry at all. The stomach apparently began to get used to the amount of food being taken. It bodes well. It is possible that the worst is behind me and now it will be downhill.

In a few days I will jump on the scale and check how it goes.
