Apparently, Xiaomi users have not understood what the MIUI beta tests are about

MIUI, or Android with proprietary modifications from Xiaomi, will no longer be tested by enthusiasts before the official launch. According to the Chinese manufacturer, users did not take the tests seriously.

More and more companies are convinced of the benefits of unfinished software from open beta testing. A large pool of testers that can instantly report problems with the system or applications over the Internet helps in grinding the final version of the product. As a result, it is usually more stable and better protected.

The benefits of public beta testing have noticed Xiaomi until recently. His MIUI, i.e. Android with proprietary modifications of this manufacturer, was first tested in a closed group, and then in the next development phase, published on servers as a beta version for the willing. This, however, will change, and quite soon.

The MIUI Global Beta program will be turned off. Xiaomi does not want to rely on users who "do nothing".

Along with the first of July, Xiaomi will stop publishing images of the MIUI test version on individual devices. The company argues its decision in a completely honest and direct way, although its translations may not appeal to everyone. Xiaomi claims that a very small group of people actually participate in beta-tests. Most probably just download images to be able to play with new features before others and do not provide the company with any feedback.

Xiaomi assures us, however, for consolation that we should expect more frequent MIUI updates in the production channel of this system. This applies to both Xiaomi phones and those sold under the Redmi brand .

This argument does not convince me completely.

I do not really understand the problem of low testers' involvement. I believe in ensuring Xiaomi himself. I am a member of Windows Insider myself, so I am a beta tester of future versions of Windows. I did not subscribe to the program, however, to help Microsoft, and to make it easier for me to write about new products in Windows for Spider's Web. And out of ordinary curiosity.

Microsoft has little benefit from me, there are probably a lot of users similar to me. Nonetheless, this involved minority is considered by Microsoft to be invaluable help. I do not quite understand why Xiaomi does not look at it in a similar way. Especially since publishing images of systems that are of a test nature and are not covered by technical support, nothing costs the company, and can only gain from it.
