"This photo is a fake!" Internet users could not believe that the "Grove of Love" really exists

The "Grove of Love" near Wroclaw has enraptured thousands of people and its photos are spreading viralowo. What is the history of this place? What did it look like in German times? And finally: who shaped them? I decided to look for answers to these questions.

"This photo is fake!"

That was the comment on the Internet about one of the photos of "The Love Grove." And it is hard to believe that this place really exists.

"Grove of Love" is a wonderful cluster of trees in the shape of a heart, around which a field of blooming rape with an intense yellow color grows. The field is located in the town of Skarszyn , which is about 20 km from Wrocław and about 10 km from Trzebnica.

One of the first people to take a photo of the grove this year is Janusz Krzeszowski . A photographer from Wroclaw went to Skarszyn on May 1 and immediately published a photograph on the web. And it began ... It was enough to add photos to several groups regarding landscape or drone photography, so that the place, as well as the photographs themselves, became a social hit.

Right after Krzeszowski, many photographers and drone operators visited the field near Trzebnica.

- There are places in the world that we want to get at any price. See with your own eyes, admire yourself, see if it's not fake. I saw this extraordinary cluster of heart-shaped trees a year ago and I knew that once I had my own drone, I just have to go there - writes Jan Ulicki from Krakow on his fanpage.

The photo "Wyspa Miłości" was also made by Jeremiasz Gądek . His photograph was later shared by Martyna Wojciechowska . Only this one photo together on both profiles was "liked" almost 35,000. times.

In the picture above captured 2 years ago by Daniel Grodziński something is missing ... Then there was no rape growing there, and the field had a green color. It's a nice picture, but it does not make such a "wow" effect like current frames. It was only this year that the "most famous Polish field" took on wonderful, yellow colors. This is the effect of crop rotation , or plant rotation. Apparently, farmers plant various plants there each year. This means that the surroundings of the copse can be completely different in a year.

- When I was there in previous years, I came to the church or grass. This year, farmers sowed oilseed rape and made a frenzy! Even Indians, who were going to Krakow for a trip, even asked me about this place. Photographers from various corners of Poland came there - says Janusz Krzeszowski.

A romantic heart shaped by PGR

Janusz saw the famous grove in the picture for the first time several years ago. He decided to find him and photograph himself.

- I knew that this place is located near Trzebnica. I started looking for him centimeter by inch in Google Maps and finally found it. It took me maybe two hours - says Krzeszowski.

Janusz is a passionate Wrocław who has been successfully photographing for years. He also values ​​the history of these lands. So he decided to poke around a bit and check how this place looked years ago.

- On the map from 1933, the copse looks more like a 3-arm star than the heart. However, looking at the map from 1984, you can see a heart-shaped shape. After the end of World War II, the field was still cultivated by PGR. So it looks like the final shape of this place was formed by farmers after the war. The scraper was probably rounded and rounded when plowing, until it finally shaped. I have not found anywhere that this place is deliberately changed by someone into a heart shape - explains Krzeszowski.

It is not known whether in a year or two farmers once again sit there wonderful, yellow rape. I have the impression that no other plant will give a better bird's eye effect.
