Read while sitting. The new robots of iRobot cost almost PLN 10,000

Despite the fact that since the premiere of Roomba i7 and i7 + models passed less than a year, iRobot does not slow down the pace and showed the next generation of their devices. The Roomba S9 + vacuuming robot and the Braava Jet M6 mopping robot are appliances that can shock not only by their capabilities but also by high prices.

iRobot Roomba S9 + at first glance stands out above all in shape. We do not deal here with a round casing known from other Roomba robots, but with a D-shaped one. Thus, the latest model of the iRobot more than its predecessors resembles competitors from the Electrolux or Neato stables .

Antoine Garcia, an engineer from iRobot, whom I had the opportunity to talk to, claims, however, that we are not dealing with copying the competition because the US company patented a D-shaped robot already in 2009. What's more, the company still thinks that round robots they are better than others because they have no problems with entering and leaving hard-to-reach places. Therefore, the vast majority of iRobots will still be round. At least for now.

Why, then, did the Roomba S9 + come into being at all?

For two reasons. The first is that iRobot has developed a technology that overcomes the drawbacks of a non-standard robot shape. It is a new navigation system that uses not only a very sensitive camera located on the top of the robot, but also a sensor located on its front and using infrared rays, which scans the room 25 times per second, detecting any obstacles.

Thanks to the redesign of the device, it was possible to put rubber rollers acting as turbo nozzles in the front part of the robot. Thanks to that, they are 30 percent. wider and take away a lot more dirt.

Next to them, a single side brush was placed, which takes away the impurities to turboszczotek. Thanks to this, the robot has to deal better with nooks and crannies. After the movement of the Roomba S9 + model, it can be seen that engineers devoted the most attention to this element. In fact, the robot adheres very closely to the wall, and when cleaning the horns, stops for a moment to scrape any impurities out of them.

In fact, I do not see the sense of using this solution, because it provides better cleaning in relation to rounders and Robots for marginal values. Sam used the 880, 980 models, and now I use Roomba i7 and my apartment, including corners, are simply clean. So this is the solution for the most a grease demanding users.

We also have many previously known functions

The iRobot Roomba S9 + is also a more powerful engine than its predecessor. Already in the standard mode it works as well as 980 and i7 models, and in Power Boost mode it achieves even better results. This mode (formerly known as Carpet Boost) was not available in the i7 model and returned only now. In addition, the iRobot Home application allows you to precisely adjust the robot's power, and hence its volume, to your needs.

Other interesting features available in this robot were already available in the i7 model . These are the ability to recognize specific rooms and send a robot to them using the application or Google Assistant and support for the Clean Base station, which sucks dust from the robot.

At this point, it is worth mentioning that the iRobot Roomba S9 +, unlike its predecessor, will only be available in the set with the station. This is a good solution, because it allows you to empty the robot container not every few days, but a few months. The Clean Base station of my Roomby i7 was first launched at the end of January and its sack was emptied in mid-May. This accessory completely changes the way we use the cleaning robot.

Another novelty: the mava-jet mava robot m6

This is another model from the slightly neglected Braava series. The previous model Braava Jet 240 was the best mopping device on the market, but it still lacked a lot to be perfect. In the new model, most of them have been removed. The proof of this is, for example, the use of the new navigation system iAdapt 3.0, which supports mapping and room recognition.

The vast majority of mopping robots on the market are hybrid devices that combine the functions of a dry and wet cleaning robot. In a nutshell, it looks like we change the dirt container into a water container with a cloth attached. The solution is as simple as it is impractical, because it does not clean up, it only smears the impurities on the floor.

Braava robots work completely differently

First of all, they have a sprayer at the front, which first moisturizes the floor with water and detergent, and then with the help of pressure and a suitable cloth, wipe off impurities. The construction of the robot also means that, unlike vacuum cleaners, it does not drive onto carpets. This is a huge plus.

Braava Jet m6 also has other advantages. Its tank has a capacity of 0.5 liters, which allows you to clean the area of ​​100 sq m. Do you have a smaller apartment? Thus, after finishing the mopping, the robot returns to the docking station and the remaining part of the water will be used on the next occasion.

The most interesting, however, is that the Braava Jet m6 works with the vacuuming robots Roomba S9 + and i7, and I'm not just talking about the fact that both these devices can be operated using one application. After cleaning, the vacuum cleaner will send information to its colleague to start wet cleaning. We're dealing here with a really useful use of the Internet of Things.

New robots will be available only to customers with a thick wallet

The prices of new iRobots are very, very high. Roomba S9 + will cost as much as PLN 6,799. It's a lot, but it's worth remembering that we get the Clean Base station in the set. It is, therefore, a price over PLN 1000 higher than in the case of the analogous i7 + model. In turn, the mava robot Jet m6 will cost 3199 PLN. This means that people who decide to buy both equipment will have to get ready for an expense of almost PLN 10,000.

That's a lot, but for this amount we get the best cleaning jobs on the market. When we add to this great sales of previous models (costing over PLN 4,000) on the Vistula River, I have no doubt that many people will decide on them. iRobot is like the Apple market of cleaning robots not only in terms of quality, but also the price and loyalty of the brand's fans.
