The weak point of Sony cameras were the tactile functions of the screens. The producer does not give full functionality, but allows, for example, only browsing photos and choosing the AF point. This is very little for modern standards. Fortunately, some positive changes have also been introduced in this area.

The new soft 5.0 will make the display at the rear be used as a panel for setting the AF point while looking through the viewfinder. This is a well-known feature of many modern cameras that has so far been missing from the Sony A9. The AF system algorithm based on phase detection during AF-C and continuous shooting has also been optimized. The operation in less-than-ambient lighting has also been improved, i.e. in sports halls.
