You look at Logitech MX Vertical and you think, "some strange mouse." Right, because the new Logitech creation is not like the appearance of classic rodents. And for good reason.

It starts with a delicate tingling in the fingers, usually in the thumb, middle and index fingers. With time, the tingling begins to radiate, often even to the elbow. You make longer breaks from work, but the tingling does not go away. It breaks down in oppression. At first a gentle, non-alarming, then stronger and stronger, as if an invisible steel claw clamped on your wrist. The pressure becomes stronger and stronger, until one day you do not have the strength to clench your hand on a cup of coffee, let alone lift it to your mouth. In the end, the pain becomes unbearable and its effects begin to feel the whole body. Weakness. Fever. Sometimes vomiting. In extreme cases, losing feeling and the ability to distinguish between cold and heat.

This is how the carpal tunnel syndrome runs, next to the so-called "Tennis elbow" one of the most common ailments caused by repeated stress (RSI).

The latest Logitech rodent is the so-called vertical mouse. Instead of the classic profile, its surface is set at an angle of 57 degrees, which translates into a reduction in muscle tone by as much as 10%, as well as a significant reduction in unnecessary movements performed with the mouse.

The first impression after taking MX Vertical into your hand is quite ... bizarre. Accustomed to a different position of the wrist, you can not find a place, you do not know what to do with your fingers, how to put your thumb, how to lean your hand on the desk.

However, we quickly realize that although the position seems to be seemingly unnatural, the whole arm is in a completely different position than after grasping the traditional mouse. It is not turned inwards, and rests on the table in a natural way. The muscles are not tight. The wrist is not twisted.

The cursor moves differently. At the beginning it is difficult to get used to it, but then a person begins to wonder how he can move the mouse so hard on a daily basis, so strain the wrist to put the cursor in motion. In Logitech MX Vertical the wrist movement necessary to change the cursor position is minimal. And this despite a relatively small DPI (up to 1600), regulated by the button at the top of the housing.

Clicking the mouse also takes place in a different way. The fingers are arranged at an angle to the buttons and each click requires a lot less effort than with a traditional mouse. Function buttons land comfortably under the thumb. And the hand remains relaxed all the time.

Logitech MX Vertical should become the first choice for office workers.

The Logitech vertical mouse is simply designed to work in an office where quick response time or additional buttons are not required, but comfort and ergonomics count. The mouse is very comfortable in the hand, and it is covered with rough material, so even the sweaty hand does not slip off.

I will just add that choosing this rodent the absolute muse is to buy a pad with a gel padding. Due to the fact that the hand is turned at a different angle, its edge is more exposed to prints or abrasions. The gel pad is a cheap and effective solution to this problem, and additionally increases the comfort and ergonomics of the work.

The MX Vertical will not let you down in terms of working time even when using it everyday. One charge, according to the manufacturer, is enough for four months of work. During my tests, I have barely 7 percent for almost two weeks. energy, so I'm inclined to believe in these assurances. The mouse - here a big plus - we charge with a USB-C connector and we can connect it simultaneously to a maximum of three computers.

I missed a little for full happiness.

Every day I use Logitech MX Master 2s, which in my opinion is an ideal mouse . Unfortunately, the MX Vertical will not change that. Of course, convenience and comfort distributes the MX Master 2s on the shoulders, but it lacks the opportunities that the older mouse has accustomed to. There is no additional button under the thumb to support system gestures. There is no "loose" knob (in the MX Vertical it works only in the precise mode). There is no additional knob that greatly facilitates the work of editing the video or working with a large table in Excel.

Logitech MX Master 2s also has a higher sensor sensitivity. And while 1600 DPI in the MX Vertical is enough for most everyday tasks, I've found myself using the fastest setting all the time, and sometimes I would like to be able to "speed up" a little more.
I can not give up on these things in favor of a little more comfort. And I feel something that many consumers will take a similar view of the MX Masters 2s.

The best Logitech mice can now be bought for just over PLN 300. Meanwhile, MX Vertical costs over PLN 400, depending on the store. It's a lot of money, and from the experience I gained from working in the trade, I know that it is difficult for the client to persuade to issue a three-digit amount per mouse. What about the one that looks "bizarre" and does not offer too many additional functions.

It is also worth trying on the MX Vertical before purchasing. Paradoxically, despite the large dimensions, MX Vertical works best in medium-sized hands. For small feminine fingers, it may just be too big (and it will be difficult to reach for the buttons), and for the great male paws, simply badly contoured. It's better to "grasp" a mouse in the store than spend over PLN 400 and not be satisfied.

Prevention is better than cure. You will not find better "prevention" than MX Vertical.

The vertical mouse on the market has practically nothing at all. For nearly a decade, this type of construction has been gradually disappearing from the market, as design and practicality are being put on practicality and ergonomics. Logitech MX Vertical is the second - after Logitech MX Ergo - the big player step towards changing this state of affairs.

Logitech MX Vertical may not be the best-equipped mouse on the market, but it is certainly the best chance for millions of office workers to avoid serious health complications related to the profession and may be the best option for thousands of employers to avoid long-term losses and damages.
