Oral-B at MWC 2019 brought something more than a new electric toothbrush. The display featured a futuristic mirror like the Black Mirror series.

In the first reflex, you may be surprised that a company that associates with consumers mainly with toothbrushes and toothpastes appears at consumer electronics fairs - especially those where the first violin is played by mobility. However, Oral-B is a company for which smartphones are not the first. Electric brushes that connect with smartphones via Bluetooth of this brand have been available for years.

At MWC 2019 , a new version of the Oral-B electric toothbrush, Genius X , was presented. From the Genius 10000 model , which is now the creme de la creme in the company's offer , the new generation is distinguished by the fact that thanks to artificial intelligence no longer needs a camera to check if its owner is properly brushing his teeth. Sensors are enough.

Genius X toothbrush with AI support was not the only new product that Oral-B brought to Barcelona.

The exhibition featured a presentation of a futuristic gadget that aroused from the very beginning the association with the series Black Mirror. A reflective pane of glass appeared on the display, and on its surface - digitally generated content as if from a science-fiction movie.

During the presentation, an employee of Oral-B approached this unusual mirror located above the sink. After he was identified, he picked up a special device, opened it, and ... used a transparent tip to make an oral swab.

Artificial intelligence contained in the system called Biometric Health Tracker on the fly analyzes health data.

As the manufacturer convinces, oral health translates directly into the health of the whole body. By taking a sample from the oral cavity, Oral-B Biometric Health Tracker is able to display specific information about your health on your surface.

Such data may include, for example, a report on the condition of the gums, the level of plaque whiteness and even ... the level of stress. In addition, the mirror, after recognizing the user, can display not only the weather, but also entries from the calendar. There are also notifications, personalized recommendations and so on.

It is a pity that Biometric Health Tracker is just an idea, not a real product.

Oral-B realizes that there is no technology that would allow this type of project to be implemented in practice. He does not hide that although the screens displaying the image on the mirror are already there, the Biometric Health Tracker does not really exist. However, this does not prevent the company from showing its position at the Mobile World Congress, how in a few years our life could look like thanks to the development of technology.

Thus, the company spins its vision of the future, in which each of us will have access to our own "digital dentist". This is unfortunately unrealistic for now. Well, but not everything is lost! In health care, they can help us - naturally - connecting to the toothbrushes of this brand toothbrush. You can buy them, of course, today. It must be admitted that this is an interesting way to stand out in this type of trade fairs.
