It's 30 percent. more than in the same period last year. Two factors influenced such a good result. The premiere of the long-awaited Super Smash Bros. brawl should be considered the first one. Ultimate. The second was undoubtedly the shopping holiday period. Switch proved to be the most preferred console gift, which is confirmed by large western sales networks such as Walmart and Amazon.

If the Switch overtakes the Xbox, it will be a huge defeat for Microsoft.

Thanks to the good quarter, the total sales of Switch is 32.27 million boxes. All this has been achieved in less than two years since the market debut. For comparison, Xbox One goes to store shelves for five years, and its sales are estimated at 40 - 45 million copies. The exact number is not known because Microsoft does not make it public. The company prefers to publish the number of active users of Xbox Live, which oscillates around 65 million users. It's just that this group includes players on the X360 console, Windows 10, Nintendo Switch (Minecraft) and mobile devices.

It is not out of the question that in 2019 the Nintendo Switch will defeat Xbox One. This is indicated by more and more analysts. It would be a painful image for Microsoft. The weaker, more expensive and less versatile platform will turn out to be more desirable by players than the powerful stationary machine of a technological giant. Such a situation will clearly show how much help programs like Game Pass or backward compatibility are really worth. These are great from the perspective of the consumer who already has an Xbox, but it is not something that the market wins. First the games, then the rest. Never the other way round.

Contrary to appearances, Nintendo has no reasons for excessive satisfaction.

The impressive 9.4 million consoles in three months are still less than assumed by Nintendo's predictions. Already a few weeks ago I called the hyper-optimistic assumptions of the Japanese almost impossible to achieve. Now Wielkie N is reviewing its business plan, making a 3-million-zloty correction on the sales result for the entire fiscal year. The hardest, however, only before Nintendo. I feel a considerable slowdown in sales.

I have a feeling that in the next months Switch will not disappear from stores like fresh rolls. Nintendo has no plans to make a loud launch for the next weeks.
